Hi, I’m David Gregory. This website is a reflection of the journey God has had me on for a long time, both personally and professionally. I placed my trust in Jesus while in college, but it wasn’t until about ten years later that He started to show me that there was a lot more to the gospel that I’d realized. A lot more than simply, “You’re forgiven, you’re going to heaven, now try your hardest to be a good Christian.” He began revealing what the Bible laid out so plainly: that He had already made me completely new, that Jesus had come to live in me, and that He Himself would live the life through me—the life that I was trying so hard, but failing, to produce on my own.

With one of the mentors God used in my life, I co-authored The Rest of the Gospel: When the Partial Gospel Has Worn You Out. God used it beyond our wildest dreams, and is still doing so today.

About the same time, while at Dallas Seminary, I wrote a novella called Dinner with a Perfect Stranger. It was a story about Jesus having dinner at a restaurant with a modern-day skeptic. I printed some copies just to have on hand to share the good news of Jesus with people. Miraculously, God put it in the hands of a major publisher and turned it into a bestseller. An independent film producer, Jefferson Moore, made a movie of it, which millions have seen. I wrote two sequels, and he made two more movies. God has continued to use the books and the movies more than we ever imagined.

Since then, I have written four more novels and three more nonfiction books that communicate the reality of who God has made us through the new birth, and what it means that Jesus now lives His life in us.

FreeWithGod.com is a ministry to proclaim that message, and the freedom, joy, and peace it brings, to a new generation. Our goal—mine and those who have tirelessly helped me craft it—is for the next generation to not only catch a vision for this message, but to experience the fullness of Christ in them for themselves. That’s what the world really longs to see: the good news of Jesus Christ shared through transformed lives.

Toward that end, we are working to make available as much life-changing content as possible for free, at this point in English, Spanish and Portuguese throughout North and South America. And we’ll see where God takes it from there!
