What are these letters?
These 22 letters from Jesus are taken from a short book I wrote called If Jesus Loves Me Why
Isn’t This Working? The main character, Dylan, is struggling in his Christian life. He’s diligently
tried to do all the Christian stuff he’s been taught to do, but still, his life seems a far cry from the
“abundant life” Jesus promised. How do you actually live this thing out, he wonders. Then he
receives a handwritten note: “Do you want Me to teach you?”
What follows is this series of letters from Jesus. They start Dylan from scratch, as if he didn’t
know Jesus at all, and walk him through everything he needs to understand about this
relationship with God. So the letters are written both for someone who has come to faith in
Jesus, and for someone who has not yet come to faith in Jesus. In other words, they are written
as if addressed directly to you!
